The Practice Advisor Reports contains a section about Schedule Management. What important information does this portion of the report provide?
Schedule Management The Schedule Management statistics are calculated using the Active Patient Base by Last Visit. The Active Patient Base by Last Visit is the total number of patients who have a Last Visit Date in the Family File that is within the previous number of months (from the Practice Advisor Setup dialog box), who have a Prov1 (primary provider) that has been selected for the report, and who have a billing type that has been selected for the report (from the Practice Advisor Report dialog box).
Practice Totals The report show the practice’s schedule management totals.
Dentist Average Hourly Production The Dentist Average Hourly Production is the Dentist Production divided by the # of Dentist Production Hours within a given date range. (Calculates hours by decimal point.)
The report displays the following Dentist Average Hourly Production statistics: • Previous Month – The Dentist Average Hourly Production for the previous month. • This Month – The Dentist Average Hourly Production since the beginning of the month. • Next Month – The Dentist Average Hourly Production for next month. • YTD – The Dentist Average Hourly Production since the beginning of the year (fiscal or calendar).
Dentist Unfilled Hours Dentist Unfilled Hours is the difference of the # of Dentist Production Days (in minutes) and the Scheduled Time divided by 60 (to get hours and minutes) within a given date range. Events scheduled in the Appointment Book are not taken into consideration (for example, if all operatories have been blocked off for an entire day, those hours will still show up on the report as part of the unfilled hours). Scheduled Time is the total number of minutes (appointment length) for all scheduled appointments within a given date range.
The report displays the following Dentist Unfilled Hours statistics: • Previous Month – The Dentist Unfilled Hours for the previous month. • This Month – The Dentist Unfilled Hours since the beginning of the month. • Next Month – The Dentist Unfilled Hours for next month. • YTD – The Dentist Unfilled Hours since the beginning of the year (fiscal or calendar).

The report displays the following Scheduled Hours statistics: • Previous Month – The Scheduled Hours or the previous month. 100% will always appear in this column to indicate that Scheduled Hours is used as the base for calculations. • This Month – The Scheduled Hours since the beginning of the month. 100% will always appear in this column to indicate that Scheduled Hours is used as the base for calculations. • Next Month – The Scheduled Hours for next month. 100% will always appear in this column to indicate that Scheduled Hours is used as the base for calculations. • YTD – The Scheduled Hours since the beginning of the year (fiscal or calendar). 100% will always appear in this column to indicate that Scheduled Hours is used as the base for calculations.
# of Broken Appointments not re-appointed The # of Broken Appointments not re-appointed is the number of broken appointments that have a broken date within a given date range and have an appointment provider who is a dentist or hygienist on the report.
The report displays the following # of Broken Appointments not re-appointed statistics: • Previous Month – The # of Broken Appointments not re-appointed for the previous month. • This Month – The # of Broken Appointments not re-appointed since the beginning of the month. • Next Month – The # of Broken Appointments not re-appointed for next month. • YTD – The # of Broken Appointments not re-appointed since the beginning of the year (fiscal or calendar).
Scheduled Hours for Broken Appts The Scheduled Hours for Broken Appts is the number of minutes (appointment length) for all broken appointments that have a broken date within a given date range and have an appointment provider who is a dentist or hygienist on the report.
The report displays the following Scheduled Hours for Broken Appts statistics: • Previous Month – The Scheduled Hours for Broken Appts for the previous month. The percentage (%) in this box is the Scheduled Hours for Broken Appts for the previous month divided by the Scheduled Hours for the previous month (multiplied by 100 and then rounded to the nearest whole number). • This Month – The Scheduled Hours for Broken Appts since the beginning of the month. The report displays the following Revenue Lost from Broken Appointments statistics: • Previous Month – The Revenue Lost from Broken Appointments for the previous month. • This Month – The Revenue Lost from Broken Appointments since the beginning of the month. • Next Month – The Revenue Lost from Broken Appointments for next month. • YTD – The Revenue Lost from Broken Appointments since the beginning of the year (fiscal or calendar).
Value of Dentist Unfilled Hours The Value of Dentist Unfilled Hours is the Average Hourly Production multiplied by the Unfilled Hours.
