Expected From Insurance In Ledger Shows An Amount and Should be 0 , But All Claims Are Paid

An account displays an amount expected from insurance, but all claims are paid and none are outstanding.  The patient is not on the Insurance Aging Report, but the Ledger still indicates an amount Expected From Insurance.

1. Run the Secondary Claims Not Created Report in Office Manager | Reports | Ledger | Secondary Insurance. Claims Not Created. Note: Make sure to set a date range that will go back far enough to include all the old claims on the account in question. You can even just run it for that one specific account instead of all.
 
2. If there are Secondary Claims which have not been created, create them.  Post zero payments if nothing is expected.  Otherwise, submit the claim and wait for payment.

 

3. Click on Ledger Plus History and make sure there is not an additional payment still due on a primary or secondary claim.  Look for all patients in the family one-by-one.



4. Make sure they have all secondary claims created for each primary if they have secondary insurance.

 

5. Make sure the customer is current in closing the months.
